Our standards
Useful information needs a visible source.
NearBite separates confirmed facts, third-party opinions and editorial judgement so readers can decide what to trust.
Halal status
We label a restaurant fully halal only when a current official source, certification record or direct written confirmation supports that claim. “Halal options” means some items may be suitable but the whole restaurant is not represented as halal. Each published listing should include a source and verification date.
Ratings and reviews
Third-party scores retain their original source and review count. NearBite does not convert or invent ratings. A NearBite verdict, when present, is clearly labelled as editorial.
Prices and menus
Typical spend is based on a realistic main meal and drink, not the cheapest menu item. Menus change, so pages include a last-checked date and link to an official menu whenever possible.
Popular dishes
Popular dishes are based on recurring diner feedback, restaurant-provided sales context or editorial observation. We explain which signal supports the choice.
Corrections
Corrections are reviewed against an official source before publication. Material changes should update the verification date and retain an internal change record.
